John Wilcox Competition Engines have always had a long association with the new Triumph motorcycles, working closely with Triumphs Design Department on both current and future engines. Having developed engines for Triumph for more than 12 years, they built up a vast range of data giving them every advantage when it comes to tuning these engines for more performance.
During the late 1990s they carried out the power development work on the TT600 and the 147 PS Daytona. During the development of an engine, they were able to see how an engine responds to various changes to head modifications, cams & cam timing, exhaust and inlet modifications.
They were then in an ideal position to offer performance upgrade kits based on true power improvements and not just bolt on'shiny bits' essentially, the best upgrades available on a T595, by the original engine design teams located within a mile of the Triumph factory using tooling supplied by Triumph. Bought for a trip to this years LeMans MotoGP trip, which it ran faultlessly for the 1,000 or so miles of the trip. Will certainly offer a great investment bike for the future, whilst still maintaining everyday practicality of any other bike thatll still tackle a daily commute perfectly fine its an incredibly competent setup with strong linear power, great midrange and tone from the exhaust! It only takes a quick look at early Honda Fireblade, Honda SP1, Ducati 916 amongst others values over the last 10 years to see what this may achieve in the future.
